Sumter County
 
Last week there was an article in the Sumter Newspaper that says a
developer wants to move the Lake Panasoffkee Cemetery.
We have been in contact with various State officials concerning
this issue and will post any new info we get.

We strongly encourage anyone who has family members buried in this cemetery to contact us so that we can get you in touch with the proper officials.  Currently the county believes that there are no
living relatives of those buried in this cemetery.


The state does allow cemeteries to be moved as long as certain
procedures are followed, one of these is attempting to locate relatives, unfortunately the county is only running ads in areas
unlikely to contain anyone who would care.
