Old Mobley Cemetery, Webster, Sumter County, Florida
The Old Mobley Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries located in the Center
Hill area of Sumter County, Florida. Even though most of the stones of the
grave sites are no longer visable. We have obtained a small List of some of
the people who have been buried there. As you will see all are men and the
birth and death dates are not available at this time, we are though still
researching the background of those that have been interred in their final
resting place here. As more of the data comes in we will update the file
and as you will see that more than the people listed here have been laid
beside their love ones. The one thing that has been confirmed is the fact
that these men all fought in Captain McCloud's Cavalry in the Second Seminole
Indian War between the years of 1836 and 1846. We are still in the
confirmation phase of finding out whether or not they died in the War also.
